About Trip Overview

This Lower Dolpo trek is Located in the central west of the country. It is a rain shadow area and was opened in 1991 for trekking, the focal point of the area is Shey Phoksundo National park . This Lower Dolpo area is remote and rugged protected area is both scenically and culturally attractive. The Lower Dolpo trek circuit can be completed in eight day from Juphal back to Juphal. The circuit can be completed either clock wise or anticlockwise, in both way the focal point of the trek are Phoksundo lake and the Tarap valley.The main attraction of the Lower Dolpo trek is the wild and pristine landscape. Geographically, it is similar to Tibetan plateau and is generally dry, cold and sparsely vegetated This Lower Dolpo trek consist a home of herbal land, unspoiled trans-Himalayan culture, Buddhist monuments. Trekking in this area is an adventure that is full of enthusiasm, excitement and above all, an unforgettable life time experience. The trekking season for booth Upper Lower Dolpo and Lower Dolpo is generally from June to September.
