Long before I founded Sherpa Guides Nepal Treks and Expeditions, I walked these Himalayan trails as a young porter, carrying supplies through rugged mountain passes and learning from the mountains with every step. Those early experiences taught me resilience, humility, and a profound respect for the Himalayas values that continue to guide me today.
With more than 40 years of experience in Nepal’s tourism industry, I have dedicated my life to helping travelers experience the Himalayas in their truest form. From my beginnings as a porter to becoming a professional Sherpa guide and eventually founding my own company, my journey has been driven by one purpose: to create safe, authentic, and life-changing adventures for every traveler who places their trust in us.
The Himalayas are far more than spectacular peaks – they are home, heritage, and a way of life. Every trail carries stories, every village reflects centuries of tradition, and every summit reminds us of the strength we discover within ourselves. For Karma Sherpa, the Himalayas are more than a destination—they are home.
Born and raised in the Solukhumbu District, the gateway to Mount Everest, Karma grew up in a humble Sherpa family where life has always been closely connected to the mountains. While still attending school, he began working as a porter during school holidays to help support his family. Those early journeys across the Himalayan trails not only shaped his character but also laid the foundation for a lifelong career in mountaineering.
Through years of dedication, perseverance, and hands-on experience, Karma has become a highly respected professional mountain and trekking guide. Known for his calm leadership, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to safety, he has earned the trust of trekkers and climbers from around the world. His deep understanding of the Himalayas, combined with genuine Sherpa hospitality, enables him to lead every expedition with confidence, care, and professionalism.
He is a certified professional guide accredited by the Government of Nepal and the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). He has completed advanced technical mountaineering and rescue training, and currently serves as a Government Mountaineering Liaison Officer in high-altitude regions.

His climbing achievements include three successful summits of Mount Everest, along with ascents of Manaslu, Ama Dablam (three times), Baruntse, and Cholatse. He has also successfully guided 15+ expeditions to Mera Peak and 16+ expeditions to Island Peak, making him one of the region’s experienced high-altitude guides.

As the first Chartered Accountant in the family and a proud member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Fura brings a modern business perspective to Sherpa Guides Nepal. Although her career extends beyond the tourism industry, Fura proudly dedicates her free time to supporting the family business. Working behind the scenes, she became an integral part of the company’s management, applying her expertise in finance, accounting, taxation, auditing, and business administration to support its continued growth and long-term sustainability.
Today, she serves as the backbone of the company’s financial operations. From preparing budgets to ensuring tax compliance and determining fair, transparent, and competitive pricing for every trek and expedition, Fura plays a vital role in ensuring the company operates with professionalism, efficiency, and integrity.
Beyond finance, Fura also contributes to the company’s digital development. For Mingmar Tshering Sherpa, the Himalayas are more than mountains—they are home. Born and raised in Kharikhola, Solukhumbu, at the gateway to the Everest region, he grew up surrounded by the world’s highest peaks, where his passion for mountaineering began at an early age.
Today, Mingmar is one of Sherpa Guides Nepal’s most accomplished high-altitude guides, with over 20 years of expedition experience. He has successfully summited Mount Everest seven times, along with Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam, Baruntse, Island Peak, and Mera Peak, guiding climbers from around the world safely to their goals.
As Expedition Director, Mingmar combines world-class mountaineering expertise with genuine Sherpa hospitality. His calm leadership, unwavering focus on safety, and infectious sense of humour give every climber the confidence to push beyond their limits while enjoying an unforgettable Himalayan adventure.

With over 2 decades of high-altitude expedition experience, Ang Kaji has earned the trust of climbers from around the world through his calm leadership, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to safety. Since beginning his professional mountaineering career in 2005, he has successfully guided expeditions on some of the Himalayas’ most iconic peaks, including Mount Everest, Shishapangma, Ama Dablam, Baruntse, Mustagh Ata, Mera Peak, Yala Peak, and Pokalde Peak.
Beyond his extensive climbing experience, Ang Kaji is a certified Climbing Guide accredited by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). He has also completed specialized training in mountain rescue, wilderness first aid, mountain safety, liaison operations, and helicopter long-line rescue, equipping him to lead expeditions with the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Kami Chhiri is one of Sherpa Guides Nepal’s most experienced high-altitude guides, renowned for his professionalism, reliability, and genuine Sherpa hospitality. As more than ten-times Mount Everest summiteer, he combines extensive mountaineering expertise with a calm, confident approach, helping climbers achieve their goals safely and successfully.
Known for his positive attitude and approachable personality, Kami Chhiri creates an enjoyable and supportive environment on every expedition. His strong understanding of high-altitude conditions, combined with his ability to connect with climbers from around the world, ensures every journey is both safe and memorable.

Lakpa Sherpa is an experienced adventure trekking and mountain guide with more than two decades of experience in Nepal’s Himalayas. He has been a licensed trekking guide in Nepal since 2001 and has completed professional training in various aspects of tourism, mountain safety, and guiding.
Throughout his long career in the tourism industry, Lakpa has gained extensive knowledge of Nepal’s diverse landscapes, regional geography, cultures, traditions, and religious heritage. His deep understanding of the Himalayas allows him to provide travellers with not only safe and memorable journeys but also meaningful cultural experiences.
He has guided numerous treks across Nepal, exploring famous trekking regions including the Everest Region, Annapurna Region, Langtang, Mustang, Dolpo, and many remote wilderness areas. His experience extends beyond Nepal, with familiarity in adventure trips to Tibet, Bhutan, and India.
A passionate mountaineer, Lakpa first successfully summited Mount Everest in 2009 and has climbed several other peaks in Nepal. His personal experience in high-altitude environments, combined with his warm hospitality and excellent English communication skills, makes him a trusted companion for Himalayan adventures.
Lakpa is dedicated to sharing the beauty, culture, and spirit of the Himalayas with travellers from around the world, creating safe, authentic, and unforgettable mountain experiences.
Born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, Surya Man Shyangbo discovered his passion for the Himalayas and trekking despite not growing up in a mountain tourism region.
He joined Sherpa Guides Nepal Treks & Expeditions Pvt. Ltd. in 2020 as a porter and spent five years gaining valuable mountain experience. In 2026, he successfully completed the Trekking Guide Training Program organised in coordination with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and obtained his Guide Licence, becoming a qualified trekking guide.
