For Mingmar Tshering Sherpa, the Himalayas are more than mountains—they are home. Born and raised in Kharikhola, Solukhumbu, at the gateway to the Everest region, he grew up surrounded by the world’s highest peaks, where his passion for mountaineering began at an early age.

Today, Mingmar is one of Sherpa Guides Nepal’s most accomplished high-altitude guides, with over 20 years of expedition experience. He has successfully summited Mount Everest seven times, along with Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam, Baruntse, Island Peak, and Mera Peak, guiding climbers from around the world safely to their goals.

As Expedition Director, Mingmar combines world-class mountaineering expertise with genuine Sherpa hospitality. His calm leadership, unwavering focus on safety, and infectious sense of humour give every climber the confidence to push beyond their limits while enjoying an unforgettable Himalayan adventure.
