Seasons: All months of the year except July to mid September during wet monsoon
season, best time in March to May when wild flowers specially
rhododendron in full bloom in the shade of snow capped peaks
October to December months another best time with clear views of
mountains, but much cold in the morning and night times.
Day 1 Drive or fly to Pokhara 865 m - 06 hrs ride (30 mins by air).
Morning taking an overland journey from Kathmandu to reach lovely spot at Pokhara, where
drive leads beyond Kathmandu valley on downhill to reach lower farm villages and towns
following Trisuli River for some times, then heading due west with views of Manaslu and
Annapurna Himalaya as our drive ends at beautiful Pokhara by its calm Phewa Lake with views
of Annapurna and Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail peak’
Day 2 Short drive to Nayapul 1,100 m and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,435 m - 04 hrs.
With pleasant overnight stop in Pokhara, where morning short drive leads you to the starting
point of our trek at Nayapul town or from Bhirethati village, a nice place on the side of Modi
River, where walk starts heading on Old Trans Himalaya Salt Trade Route of Nepal to Tibet that
extends beyond Ghorepani towards Upper Mustang.
Walk leads with slow uphill into villages overlooking cascading waterfalls entering forest and
farm areas with climb to reach at Tirkhedhunga within a nice farm village close to its beautiful
water falls for overnight stop.
Day 3 Trek to Ghorepani village 2,872 m - 05 hrs.
From Tirkhedhunga morning walk up hill on stone paved steps all the way to reach a high ridge
top at Ulleri village after a tough walk of few hours.
Ulleri a large Gurung and Magar village facing views of rolling hills and snow capped peaks of
Annapurna South, Huin Chuli and top of Machhapuchare Himal.
After a refreshing stop walk continues on winding gentle path within oaks-pines and
rhododendron forest, and then slowly gaining altitude to reach at Ghorepani village.
Ghorepani offers fantastic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Vara-Shikar also called
Annapurna Fang, village with blue painted houses serving as good lodges located at the base of
Poon Hill, populated with Poon people of Magar ethnic tribe.
Day 4 Morning hike to Poon Hill 3,210 m continue walk to Tadapani 2,680 m - 05 hrs.
Starting early morning an hour hike up to Poon-Hill at above 3,210 m high, offers stunning
views of sunrise over range of mountains from Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu to Annapurna and
as far to Ganesh Himal including Mt. Machhapuchare “The Fish Tail”.
After enjoying wide angle panorama views of mountains with sunrise walk back to Ghorepani
and then continue trek to Tadapani, our route leads to a climb into enchanting rhododendron
forest all the way to Tadapani for the overnight stop.
Tadapani situated in the middle of rhododendron, magnolia and oaks forest with fabulous
view of Mt. Machhapuchare and Annapurna South.
Day 5 Trek to Chomrong 2,100 m - 06 hrs.
From Tadapani beautiful view of Annapurna peaksani after a wonderful morning, walk leads to
a descend to Kimrong valley in the cool shade of a forest, after reaching Gurjong village an
uphill climb for another hour from here all the way to the top of Chomrong village, a short
downhill walk to the overnight stop at Chomrong village, this is the last permanent Gurung
village and the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp trekking.
Our return journey leads back at Chomrong with ups and downhill walks, on reaching
Chomrong continue climb on a hill top, where our route diverts on a new trail to reach nice hill
village of Jhinu located on a high ridge with grand views of rolling hills and mountains.
Jhinu provides refreshing natural hot-spring for interested people which is a mere distance
downhill of half hour to the hot spring with two nice warm pools close to raging Modi-River.
Day 6 Trek to Dobhan 2,615 m via Bamboo place 2,340 m - 06 hrs.
From Chomrong morning leads to a short downhill over terraced farm fields to reach at
Chomrong river, after crossing over a bridge with uphill to Sinuwa-Danda, a small place with
few lodges offers grand views of surrounding rolling green hills, from here walk continues into
dense forest till Bamboo is reached, a place with many good lodge located by the Modi River in
the middle of bamboo, rhododendron and oaks forest. From here an hour walk on the gradual
up trail to Dovan for overnight stop, situated in the middle of forest Modi River gorge.
Day 7 Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,780 m - 06 hrs.
After a pleasant overnight stop in Dovan, where morning walks leads higher up as vegetation
and tree lines drops for high altitude alpine bushes and shrubs, our route leads to follow raging
Modi river upstream right up to its source at base camp, walks gets better on some sections of
the route with last steep climb to reach at Machhapuchare Base Camp for overnight stop.
A nice quiet place with few good lodges located beneath towering North Face of Mt.
Machhapuchare. From eere onward starts of the Annapurna Sanctuary, afternoon relax or short
excursion around this tranquil wilderness with views of Annapurna South-Huinchuli, Singu Chuli
/ Fluted peak as well Annapurna I with Vara Shikar (Annapurna Fang) towards North West.
Day 8 Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) 4,130 m - 03 hrs.
With pleasant and exciting morning facing views of Annapurna range of peaks, morning leads to
a short walk up to reach our main destination at Annapurna base camp, starting our trek
heading higher up on grassy hill slopes to reach a small plateau and a level ground.
As walk advance towards Annapurna Base Camp, with breathtaking views of Annapurna peaks
that surround you within the sanctuary with giant wall of Mt. Annapurna I.
After a good scenic walk reaching at Annapurna Base Camp a magnificent spot with few large
lodges, offers incredible views of giant snowcapped peaks that encircles this scenic spot at base
camp, afternoon at leisure to enjoy mountain views.
Annapurna area was first explored by the British Adventure Col. James O.M. 'Jimmy' Roberts in
the year 1956 and exposed to the world as the 'Sanctuary of Gods'. The Sanctuary has been
christened as "Annapurna Sanctuary" ever since.
Day 9 Trek back to Bamboo a small settlement for overnight - 06 hrs.
After a great and enjoyable time at Annapurna Base Camp and within beautiful sanctuary,
morning leads on long downhill walk to lower areas, as our route descend to Deurali past
Machhapuchare Base Camp, then with few short ups and down following a gradual winding
trail back into green forested area to Bamboo for the overnight stay.
A nice and pleasant spot a temporary settlement with lodges to cater the needs of the trekkers
located by the Modi River in a gorge within green bamboo and rhododendron forest.
Day 10 Trek to Jhinu Danda 1,780 m via Chomrong - 05 hrs.
From Bamboo a short steep climb up to Khuldi Ghar, then on winding downhill path into dense
forest to Sinuwa-Danda, and then our walk descends to Chomrong khola. After crossing the
bridge an uphill walk for less than an hour to reach at Chomrong village for short rest or lunch
stop, after Chomrong a short up for half hour reaching at the top of Chomrong ridge, from here
our route descends to Jhinu-Danda for overnight stay, this place offers refreshing hot springs
just 20 minutes’ walk downhill near Modi river.
Day 11 Trek to Siwai 1,240 m and drive to Pokhara - 06 hrs with walks and drives.
Our last day trek of the adventure, where morning leads to nice pleasant walk on downhill to
reach low- warm areas within farm fields at Siwai, where an interesting drive takes back at
beautiful Pokhara for overnight stops by its serene Lake Phewa in the comfort of nice hotels.
